Men with Heart

The Friends of the Faulkner-Sagoff Centre are honored to have the opportunity to recognize Men With Heart at this year’s RUNWAY gala.

Men With Heart is a group of men committed to fighting breast cancer. They are husbands who are doing something constructive rather than resigning to helplessness. They are sons who have seen their mothers courageously fight an insidious disease. They are brothers who want to stand beside their sisters in this battle. They are relatives, friends, lovers, colleagues, neighbors, and admirers of the women who are struggling with, often beating, and, regrettably, sometimes losing the fight with breast cancer.

Men With Heart raise awareness, funds, and smiles as they participate in a variety of breast cancer walks wearing their trademark yellow shirts. They walk with the goals of spreading good cheer, encouraging a spirit of camaraderie, and helping their fellow walkers through the challenges on the course. Group sing-a-longs, boisterous receiving lines, and candy distribution are just a few ways they provide a positive energy to lift spirits and make each walk a more memorable and inspiring experience.

Since their inception in 2001, Men with Heart has raised and donated nearly $1,000,000 for breast cancer prevention, treatment, and awareness to various organizations.
