Wiihab at Faulkner Hospital

Many people have heard of the Wii as a video game machine used by kids. Here at Faulkner Hospital, we have adapted the use of the Wii to improve balance, coordination and strength of our clients. By using Wii Fitness with the balance board we are able to take new technology and use it as a treatment technique that is both fun and beneficial. The Wii has proven to be a major draw to our department, not just with the younger generations, but with our elderly population as well.

For more information on this new therapy, read this Boston Globe article on the Wii.
