How can sleep help people who are trying to lose weight? This and
other valuable information about sleep will be included in a free
March 29th seminar at Faulkner Hospital. The program is offered
to the general public as one of a series of "Lifeworks"
informational seminars.
"Sleep: As Important as Diet and Exercise, Only Easier",
will be led by Nurse Practitioner Margaret Trussler. She will provide
important information on strategies to improve sleep, the relationship
between sleep and weight loss, warning signs of a sleep disorder,
and what to do if you or someone in your family has a sleeping problem.
The program will be held on Wednesday, March 29th from 12:00 pm
to 1:00 pm in the Huvos Auditorium, which is located on the third
floor of Faulkner Hospital. Space is limited and pre-registration

Faulkner Hospital is pleased to offer level I and II Reiki classes.
The level I classes will be held on February 11th at 10:00 am and
3:30 pm and the level II classes will be held on March 11th at 10:00
am and 3:30 pm. Each session, held in the Faulkner 2nd floor atrium
1 conference room, will cost $65.00 per person. Led by Reiki Master
Teacher Olga Reisman, BA, and Reiki Master Mari Bartholomew, RN,
M.Ed, the programs will offer 6.0 continuing education units. In
the Reiki I class, students will learn this ancient technique of
hands-on healing using the concepts of spirituality and human energy
field. This technique can promote a sense of warmth and comfort
as well as relive pain and anxiety. In Reiki II, second degree Reiki,
a deeper commitment is made to both ourselves and to others. The
student is introduced to key symbols, and connections are made between

Faulkner Hospital is pleased to announce the beginning of its annual
Healthy Heart Screenings. For over fifteen years, these free events
have offered men and women the opportunity to learn about heart
disease and to participate in a screening for cholesterol, blood
pressure and blood sugar. No appointments are required and screenings
are performed on a first-come, first-served basis. In addition,
participants will have the opportunity to discuss their individual
profile and screening results with a health care professional.
Cardiovascular disease is the number one killer of American women,
yet many women are unaware of the dangers posed by this disease.
Screening and education are the first steps to decreasing the risk
