Employee Earned Time Donation for Haiti Relief

Many employees have expressed an interest in cashing in some of their earned time in order to make a donation to the relief effort in Haiti. I wanted to let you know the process for doing this.

  • We are relaxing the rules for ET Donations/cash-ins so that employees will not need to maintain a minimum number of hours in their earned time banks (they can not go to a negative balance however).
  • Donations can be made in 2 hour increments. Each employee wishing to cash-in earned time must complete a cash-in form.
  • The Earned Time cash-in is considered part of your annual income and as such will have a 403B deduction if your deduction is calculated on a percentage basis.
  • Department heads will collect ET donation forms from their employees and bring them to Human Resources on Friday morning.
  • Human Resources will work with the payroll department to process the ET cash-ins on a weekly basis.
  • Employees will receive the cash-in amount in their paycheck and can make a donation to the Haiti relief fund of their choice.
  • Employees can cash-in earned time through February 19th.
