Faulkner Hospital relies on philanthropic support from individuals,
corporations and foundations. Donations provide revenue for patient
care programs, medical initiatives, special and capital projects,
technological advances and educational programs. You can contribute
in a variety of ways:
Cash, usually in the form of a check, is the most common and popular
gift.
Property such as stocks, mutual funds, real estate and other assets
may help you make gifts at a lower cost. When you give appreciated
property, you receive a deduction for the full value of the asset
and avoid the capital gains tax that would have been due if you
had sold it.
A simple way to make a significant gift to Faulkner Hospital is
to include Faulkner Hospital in your will. We would be happy to
provide the suggested legal wording for making a bequest in support
of Faulkner Hospital.
Life income gifts provide income for you and others for life, or
for a term of years, after which Faulkner Hospital receives the
remaining amount. Life income gifts can enable you to increase your
current income, particularly if you are holding highly appreciated,
low yielding securities or real estate. Faulkner Hospital offers
several life income gift plans.
Many employers will match or subsidize your charitable contribution.
Ask your human resources department if your company has a matching
gift program.
A Faulkner Hospital Philanthropy Office staff member is available
to speak with you about giving, volunteering and/or planning a special
event. Please call (617) 983-7906 for more information. If you would
