CPR: Basic Life Support For The Health Care Provider

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is an emergency first-aid procedure for restoring life in a person whose heartbeat and breathing have stopped. CPR is an American Heart Association 7.5 hour course taught in two sessions. Participants are taught one and two-person CPR, infant, child and adult CPR, and how to manage an obstructed airway. AED training is also included. Pre-registration is required. Cost is $50. Upcoming 2007 classes are September 11 & 18 and October 29 & 30.

CPR: Basic Life Support Renewal

When your BLS certification expires, you have thirty days to renew your card by taking this 3.75-hour one session course. Certifiaction is valid for two years. Pre-registration is required. Cost is $40. Upcoming 2007 classes are September 10 & October 15.

CPR: Instructor Course
 

A 15-hour, four-session course that teaches qualified graduates of the CPR Basic Life Support course how to instruct students in the CPR emergency procedure. Pre-registration is required. Cost is $150. Upcoming 2006 classes will be held from 6:15 -10:00 p.m. on September 27 and October 4 & 11.

The Basics of Baby-sitting
 



This 6-hour course, taught in two sessions, is designed for boys and girls ages 11 to 14, and covers infant and child care, fire safety, accident prevention, emergency management and basic first aid. Pre-registration is required. The cost is $45. 2008 dates to be determined.

Healthy Conversations
 
This speakers' program brings the latest health care information into your business or organization. Healthy Conversations is a presentation followed by a discussion period in which Faulkner's trained professionals will address the medical concerns specific to your group. Topics include: Ask Your Pharmacist, Beyond Breast Self-Exam, Heart Disease, Choosing a Nursing Home, Nutrition and Weight Loss, Arthritis and How to Cope, Prostate Cancer and many more. Fall Community Lecture Series
The following programs are jointly sponsored by Faulkner Hospital and Brigham and Women's Hospital. Unless otherwise noted, all programs are held in Faulkner's Huvos Auditorium (3rd Floor).
