In 1998, Faulkner Hospital, highly regarded
as one of the region's most respected community teaching hospitals,
joined with Brigham and Women's Hospital, one of the country's leading
academic medical centers, to form a common parent company, Brigham
and Women's/Faulkner Hospitals (BWF), a member of Partners Healthcare.
Individually, both hospitals are at the forefront of patient care
and community service and together share a mission to provide comprehensive,
coordinated care of the highest quality to our patients.

The relationship between Brigham
and Women's Hospital and Faulkner Hospital has proven successful for
our patients. BWF has integrated services, shared resources, complimented
each other's strengths and built a solid partnership that serves both
hospitals and their patients. The partnership has resulted in expanded
access to a comprehensive range of patient services, bringing together
the resources of both hospitals to ensure that patients will receive
"the right care at the right location at the right time." |

Hospital physicians and administrators
continue to work together to further integrate clinical programs and
services enabling BWF to deliver quality, choice and convenience to
its patients. Now, more than ever before, patients have access to
increased service offerings, and the best of what both hospitals have
to offer. Complex or tertiary care, such as cardiac surgery or bone
marrow transplantation, is provided at Brigham and Women's Hospital
while many primary and secondary services are provided at Faulkner
Hospital. In addition to coordinated care models in medicine and surgery,
BWF has established a number of specialty programs that offer the
best clinical expertise in the most convenient setting. |

For Faulkner Hospital
the affiliation with Brigham and Women's Hospital has meant growth
and expansion, an increasing roster of programs and services and the
addition of medical staff from Brigham and Women's Hospitals and Harvard
Vanguard Medical Associates. Faulkner Hospital's post-graduate medical
education program is rooted in a long and innovative tradition. The
affiliation has meant that Faulkner Hospital's internal medicine and
general surgical residency programs are integrated with those of Brigham
and Women's Hospital (Harvard Medical School) while Faulkner Hospital
continues to serve as a training site for students of Tufts
University School of Medicine. |
