As you may know, Faulkner Hospital joined with Brigham and Women's
Hospital in 1998. Since that time we have been in a constant period
of growth, bringing new and expanded on-site programs and services
to our patients. The medical staff at Faulkner Hospital has increased
to include staff from Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard Vanguard
Medical Associates. Many clinical positions continue to be available
as we work to support our growth. Recent expansion efforts include:
additional operating rooms, new state of the art MRI and CT scanners,
a new, technologically advanced cardiac catheterization lab, GI
suite expansion, the opening of an outpatient dialysis center, emergency
department expansion and upgrades in our information services capabilities.
Physicians in many clinical divisions within the departments of
medicine and surgery at Faulkner Hospital, have been working with
their colleagues at Brigham and Women's Hospital to integrate services,
share resources, and meet the health care needs of growing numbers
of patients. Admissions at Faulkner Hospital have increased by 50%
in the past three years. The growth in the number of inpatient and
outpatient surgeries performed at Faulkner has increased by 40%
over that same period.
